I arrived at the small camp of the ranger Duindil, who already knew of the Uruk infestation of Caras Gelebren. He tolk me to look over the hills nearby, up towards the elf-city. I talked to some of the other people camped here – mainly elves – and decided to help them with the culling of the recently arrived white wargs, the clearing of the Silver Bastion (which is what Caras Gelebren means in our tongue – funny that it is only the elves who speak of it as such) and scouting the approaches to the city. While I attend to these tasks, I also promise to look for the friend of an elf, cull some dangerous turtles, and look for some flowers that should be especially tasty that grow near the turtle breeding grounds.

Upon the hills leading up to the ruined city, I find tracks of many Uruks, and some dunlendings, but also several dead ones – with arrows of elven make stuck in them. I take these arrows and soon after encounter Bregoleth of Imladris, who is hunting the Uruks as well. We agree to help each other, and I tell her of our suspicion of Saruman the White. Bregoleth surmises that Saruman is indeed searching for ring lore, and is targetting Caras Gelebren specifically, because it is here that Sauron once approached the elven smith Celebrimbor, under the guise of Antheron. Bregoleth indulges herself with a detailed account of these bygone days, and I stick around to listen.

After the story is concluded, Meneldir catches up to us, and Bregoleth chastises him, saying that she knows the man he would have broken his oath to – and that she wants to test his resolve despite this. She tasks us each (even herself) with dispatching an orc captain, and meeting again in the nearby elf settlement of Idhobel.

I track a captain far to the northwest of Caras Gelebren, among trolls made of holly-wood, and discover some Uruk footprints near the old Elf-halls of Tham Lasgol. An Uruk captain tries to surprise me from springing from behind a ruined dome, but luckily, I deflect his initial attack with my shield. After a rought fight, I manage to take him down, and proceed to Idhobel.
